feat(expo-router): add Expo Router support for Screens and navigations and introduce Steps API
Introduce Expo Router integration with a new Screens view and API to surface screens and transitions, plus a new Steps API and UI to depict typed steps from anchors or symbols. Extend codegraph’s extraction and resolution to handle namespace objects (export default NAME, two-statement forms, and default bindings) and React hook bindings for handlers, improving accuracy of flows across JS ↔ native boundaries. Add Swift/React Native bridge receiver evidence (RCT_EXTERN_MODULE, RCT_EXTERN_METHOD) and related resolution logic, with tests covering namespace-object resolution, useCallback-driven handlers, and inline RN event listeners. Update UI to include a Steps tab and associated components (StepsView, StepNode, ScreenEdge) and wire navigation to expose steps-based exploration via /api/steps and UI routes. Documentation and changelog reflect the new Expo Router integration and steps surface capabilities. |

feat(ui): classify code from the engine's own tree-sitter parse, retiring Shiki (CG-57)
The viewer ran a second highlighter over source the engine had already parsed
with a real grammar: Shiki, plus 56 pruned TextMate grammars shipped in
dist/textmate/. The classification now comes off that tree instead, so a file is
read by exactly the grammar that decided what its symbols are.
The swap is complete rather than flagged: @shikijs/core, @shikijs/engine-javascript
and @shikijs/langs are off the dependency list, scripts/prune-grammars.mjs and
`npm run build:textmate` are deleted, and check-ui-build.mjs asserts the
tree-sitter grammars in dist/extraction/wasm instead of dist/textmate.
The wire contract is unchanged — `[classId, text]` pairs with the class names
alongside — so the viewer's decoder and code blocks did not have to be rewritten.
Two classes are added to the six: `type` (a named type reference, painted at
plain ink) and `def` (the name a definition declares, weight 600), the latter
taken from the extractors' own definition tables so it cannot drift from what
indexing calls a definition.
Three differences are not cosmetic:
* Interpolations (`${…}`, `#{…}`, `$"{…}"`, f-strings) are classified as code,
not as string. The call-site overlay refuses to claim a token classed string,
so calls written inside interpolated strings now link.
* Built-in type words are emitted whole and classed `type` in every language.
The grammars disagree about whether `string` is a type_identifier or an
anonymous token inside a predefined_type, and TextMate scoped them
inconsistently too.
* 3 000 lines of TypeScript cost 24-41 ms instead of ~700 ms.
Given up deliberately: Liquid, Razor, YAML, Twig, XML and .properties render
plain. .svelte/.vue/.astro are classified through their <script> blocks, the same
delegation the SFC extractors do. Pulling html/css/vue out of tree-sitter-wasms
would cover them, but those ABI-13 builds are the known cause of shared-WASM-heap
corruption for every other language in the same process.
Measured parity, per-language before/after screenshots and the reproduction
recipe: docs/design/cg57-highlighting-parity.md.

fix(erlang): give same-name different-arity functions separate arity-qualified nodes (#1610) (#1615)
Fixes #1610. Also fixes #1358 (the `<<binary>>` arity miscount in behaviour dispatch, reported separately and hit by the same code path). ## Problem Arity is part of an Erlang function's identity — `f/1` and `f/2` are unrelated top-level definitions — but the extractor merged consecutive same-name `fun_decl`s regardless of arity. Reproduced on main exactly as reported: - adjacent `f(X) -> …. f(X, Y) -> ….` → **one** node spanning both, with the first definition's signature; - interleaved `f/1, g/0, f/2` → two nodes with **identical** `qualified_name`; - `cowboy_req`'s `header(Name, Req) -> header(Name, Req, undefined).` → a **self-loop** `header → header`, with the `-spec` for `/3` swallowed by the merged span; - `-export([f/1])` marked every arity exported. ## Fix - **One node per (name, arity).** Clauses of the same name+arity still merge (that part of the old behavior was correct); a different arity starts a new node. `qualifiedName` carries the canonical spelling — `mod::f/1` — while the node **name stays bare** so search and bare-name matching are unchanged. - **`-export` and `-spec` are per-arity.** `-export([f/1])` exports exactly `f/1`; a spec sitting between two arities attaches to the arity its signature names. - **Refs carry the call-site arity** wherever it's statically known: local `f/1`, remote `mod::f/2`, `fun f/1` / `fun mod:f/1` values, `gen_server` dispatch (`handle_call/3`, `handle_cast/2`), and spawn/apply MFA lists (`spawn_link(?MODULE, work, [A, B])` → `work/2`). - **The matcher resolves only to the named arity** — same file first (a local call targets its own module) — and when no definition of that arity exists it resolves to **nothing** rather than a sibling arity: silent beats wrong. An arity-less dynamic-MFA ref resolves only when the module defines exactly one arity of that name. - **Behaviour dispatch** selects the implementer node of the site's arity, and the arity counter now skips `<<1,2,3>>` binary-literal commas per its own docstring (#1358) — `Mod:decode(<<1,2,3>>, Opts)` counts 2, not 4. - **`codegraph_explore` / `codegraph_node`** accept the written `mod:fn/3` spelling against the new arity-qualified names (the issue's measured `cowboy_stream_h:request_process/3` shape). ## Validation Minimal fixtures (all three reported shapes) now index as `gap::f/1` + `gap::f/2`, distinct `inter::f/1`/`inter::f/2`, and a real `deleg::header/2 → deleg::header/3` edge with no self-loop. Cowboy (fresh `--depth 1` clone, this build vs unmodified main build): | | main | this PR | |---|---|---| | nodes | 3,668 | 3,748 (+80 — the arity splits; no explosion) | | erlang function nodes | 2,850 | 2,930 | | behaviour dispatch edges | 38 | **44** | | `cowboy_req::header` | one node, span 420–425, /3's spec lost | `header/2` (420–421, its own spec) + `header/3` (424–425, its spec) | | delegation | self-loop | `header/2 → header/3` | `calls` edges drop 6,059 → 5,656: a sample of every removed pair shows the false-positive class the issue predicted — out-of-repo/BIF calls (`length/1`, `error/1`, `quicer:*`) that previously name-matched onto unrelated same-named in-repo functions now stay unresolved. Tests: new arity coverage in extraction + a new arity-resolution integration suite + a #1358 binary-literal behaviour test; updated existing Erlang expectations to the arity-carrying spellings. Full suite: **3,018 passed, 0 failed**. No migration: an existing Erlang index picks the new shape up on its next re-index (`codegraph sync` / re-`init`). Erlang is wasm-only (not in the native kernel), so there is no kernel-parity surface. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) https://claude.ai/code/session_01LxZj6W6Y1SHXwvpT3uwJpK |

fix(extraction): detect a plain struct Derived : Base base clause in .h headers as C++ (#1592) (#1593)
Fixes #1592. ## What was wrong A `.h` header whose only C++ construct is a plain derived type — ```cpp struct Base {}; struct Derived : Base {}; ``` — was classified as C. The `.h` language check (`looksLikeCpp`) recognizes `class`, `namespace`, `template`, access sections, `virtual`, `using`, and — since #1159/#1207 — the export-macro form `struct ENGINE_API Derived : Base`. The plain form has none of those signals. Routed through the C extractor, `Derived` vanished from the index and the base clause was read as a K&R-style declaration, minting a phantom `function Base` with `returnType=Derived` (the exact output in the issue). A second, independent miss the reporter called out: the check only read the first 8192 characters, so a large header with a long C-compatible preamble (include guards, `#define`s, plain typedefs) hid the signal even when it was there. ## What this does `looksLikeCpp()` now runs two passes: 1. The existing 8 KB sample regex, unchanged. 2. A scan of the **whole file** (comments stripped) for a class/struct **base clause**: `class`/`struct` + tag + optional `final` + `:` + optional `public`/`protected`/`private`/`virtual` + a base name (scoped, optionally templated) followed by the body's `{` or a `,` introducing the next base. That shape has no valid C reading, so widening it to the whole file can't drag a C header over to C++: - a bit-field's `:` follows a member *name* inside the body (`unsigned a : 3;`), not the tag; - a ternary's `:` is separated from the tag by `)` / `*` / a declarator (`sizeof(struct foo) : 0`); - a label or identifier like `struct_end:` has no whitespace after `struct`; - comments are removed before the scan, so doc-comment prose (`/* struct timeval: seconds, microseconds */`) can't match; and the `{`/`,` terminator keeps a string literal's prose from matching too. Detection only — the C++ extractor already handles the header correctly once it's routed there (renaming to `.hpp`, as the issue notes, already worked). ## Tests `__tests__/extraction.test.ts`: - plain / `: public Base` / `: ns::Base` / `: Base<int, Foo<T>>` / `final : Base` / multi-base with `{` on the next line / `: virtual Base` → `cpp`; - a base clause placed **after** 8192 characters of C-compatible preamble → `cpp`; - controls that must stay `c`: a bit-field struct, `sizeof(struct foo) : 0` + a cast ternary, a `struct_end:` label and `struct_a` identifiers, doc-comment prose shaped like a base clause, and the two pre-existing C controls; - end-to-end `extractFromSource('src/min.h', …)` on the issue's header: a `struct` node `Derived` (language `cpp`), exactly one `Base` node and it is a `struct` — no phantom function. Issue repro re-run against this build: `codegraph init` → `query Derived` returns the `cpp` struct; `query Base` returns only the struct; the files table records `src/min.h` as `cpp`. Full suite: `npm test` → 174 files passed, 3010 tests passed, 179 skipped. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) https://claude.ai/code/session_01LxZj6W6Y1SHXwvpT3uwJpK |

fix(sync): refresh the watcher's scope when codegraph.json or a .gitignore changes (#1590) (#1594)
Fixes #1590. ## What was wrong The live file watcher built its scope matcher — built-in defaults + `.gitignore` + the `codegraph.json` `exclude`/`include` rules — once in `start()` and kept it for the watcher's lifetime. The MCP server is long-lived, so a `codegraph.json` created or edited after it started was invisible to the watcher, while `codegraph sync` (a fresh process with a fresh matcher) honoured it immediately. From the user's side: the CLI removed a newly excluded file, and the daemon re-indexed it a few seconds later, which reads as "`exclude` doesn't work". As the report points out, `extensions` on the very same config file *was* read live (its loader is mtime-cached), so two fields of one file behaved differently. There was a second half to it. The watcher's scoped fast path hands the exact edited paths to sync, and that path stat'ed and re-parsed them without consulting the scope matcher at all — so the stale view of scope leaked straight into the index. ## What this does **Watcher — rebuild on a scope change, then reconcile in full.** An event for the root `codegraph.json` or `.gitignore` rebuilds the matcher, marks the next sync as a full reconcile, and schedules it. A scope change has no per-file events: newly excluded files must be *removed* from the index and newly included ones *added*, and only the scan-diff (which builds its own fresh matcher) knows which those are. Two ordering details are deliberate: - the two root files are checked *before* the matcher is consulted, so a user pattern that happens to cover them (`*.json`, `.*`) can't hide their own edits; - a nested `.gitignore` (an embedded child repo's own rules, or a subdirectory rule the git-backed scan honours) is checked *after* the matcher, so the thousands of package-local `.gitignore`s an `npm install` writes under an ignored `node_modules/` can never trigger a rebuild storm. Rebuilding runs embedded-repo discovery (one `git ls-files`), which is fine per config edit and never happens per event. Replacing the field serves both watch strategies: the recursive handler and the per-directory `shouldIgnoreDir` walk read it on every call. **Scoped sync — re-check the paths it was handed.** The orchestrator now runs scoped paths through the same scope matcher and source-extension gate the full walk applies. An out-of-scope path is treated as absent: removed if tracked, never parsed on trust. The matcher is memoized on the mtimes of the two root files it derives from (two `stat`s per sync while nothing changed), so the scoped path keeps skipping O(repo) work — paying embedded-repo discovery per sync would defeat its whole point. ## Tests - `watcher.test.ts` — a `codegraph.json` edit schedules a full sync, after which an edit inside the newly excluded tree is dropped by the live matcher (not pending, no sync) while an in-scope edit still syncs scoped; a root `.gitignore` edit behaves the same; a nested `.gitignore` forces a full sync; a `.gitignore` under `node_modules/` schedules nothing; dropping the exclude again readmits the tree. - `sync.test.ts` — end-to-end through `CodeGraph`: a scoped sync of a path that `codegraph.json` now excludes removes it (`filesRemoved: 1`, nothing parsed — the symbol added to the file never appears), stays out on a repeat, and is re-added through the same scoped path once the exclude is dropped. - All five new tests fail on `main`; the `node_modules` guard passes both ways as expected. - Full suite: 189 files, 3184 passed / 9 skipped. - CLI half of the issue's repro (init with `exclude`, edit the config + the file, `codegraph sync`): the newly excluded file is removed and its new symbol never enters the index. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) https://claude.ai/code/session_01LxZj6W6Y1SHXwvpT3uwJpK |

fix(kernel): guard the native walkers against stack overflow and defer deep files to wasm (#1581) (#1600)
Fixes #1581. ## What was wrong `codegraph init` / `codegraph index` died with `Segmentation fault` — the whole CLI process, not a parse worker — on a C/C++ file with very deep brace nesting (llvm's `clang/test/Parser/parser_overflow.c`, 16,384 nested `{`). The reporter's diagnosis is exactly right: tree-sitter's parser is iterative, so the file parses fine, and then the native kernel's **recursive walker** (`visit_node` → `visit_for_calls_and_structure` → …, one frame per AST level) overflowed the thread's stack. A native overflow can't be caught the way a wasm abort can, and a parse worker is a thread of the `codegraph` process, so the SIGSEGV took the entire indexer down — no message, no per-file fallback, no partial index. Two things made "just give the worker a bigger stack" the wrong fix: - it only moves the cliff — reproduced here: the reporter's 16,384-deep file kills a default 4 MiB worker (rc=132 on macOS / 139 on Linux), and a 100k-deep file kills the 8 MiB **main** thread too; - the walkers are shared by every kernel-routed language (20 of them), and each has several recursion points with different frame sizes, so no single stack size is a provable bound. Meanwhile the wasm path already handles this shape gracefully: its JS walker catches its own `RangeError` per file and stores a partial result with a `parse_error`. The kernel just needed a way to get there instead of dying. ## What this does **The kernel guards its own recursion against the calling thread's real stack bounds and defers a too-deep file to wasm** — the same `defer:` routing signal it already uses for files with parse errors, which `src/extraction/kernel/index.ts` treats as "take the wasm path for this file", silently. - `codegraph-kernel/src/stack.rs`: per-thread stack bounds from the OS, computed once per thread and cached — glibc/musl `pthread_getattr_np` + `pthread_attr_getstack`, macOS `pthread_get_stackaddr_np` + `pthread_get_stacksize_np`, Win32 `GetCurrentThreadStackLimits` (a hand-declared `kernel32` extern; no `windows-sys`). `exhausted()` is one thread-local load and one compare: true once the stack pointer is within a 256 KiB red zone of the limit, and it latches a flag. Where the OS can't report bounds it falls back to a fixed 1 MiB descent budget measured from the entry stack pointer — safe on anything from Node's 4 MiB worker default up. So the guard is exact on the 4 MiB worker, the 8 MiB main thread, and any `resourceLimits.stackSizeMb` alike. - `stack_guard!()` (defined in `lib.rs`) is the first statement of every recursive walker function — all **150** self-recursive or on-cycle functions across the 15 walker modules, found by script (every cycle in the call graph, not just direct self-calls). It returns `Default::default()` (`()`, `false`, `None`, `""`) so an exhausted walk simply stops descending; a hook returning `false` sends its caller down the generic child walk, whose own guard returns at once. - `extract_file` runs the whole walk under `stack::run_guarded`: if the flag is set afterwards the (truncated) result is discarded and replaced by `defer: nesting too deep for the native walker — wasm recovery handles it`. - `parse-pool.ts`: a comment at `new Worker(scriptPath)` records why there is deliberately no `resourceLimits.stackSizeMb` bump. - No new crates beyond `libc` as a direct unix dependency (already in `Cargo.lock` transitively). No wire/ABI change. Net effect for the reporter's repo: `deep.c` goes to the wasm path, lands as `function foo` plus a recorded parse warning, and the other 31,607 files index normally. `CODEGRAPH_KERNEL=0` and the `exclude` workaround are no longer needed. ## Tests **Rust unit tests** (`cargo test`, 21 passed — 7 new in `stack.rs`): the walkers for C, C++, Rust, TypeScript and Python are driven on a **1 MiB** thread (a quarter of Node's worker default) with 30k-deep nesting and must return `defer:` instead of crashing; shallow files are untouched; the latch resets between runs; the OS bounds are sane on the main thread and describe a small thread's own stack. **`__tests__/kernel-deep-nesting.test.ts`** (new, 8 tests — skips without a staged `.node`, fails under `CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1` if the kernel is missing, like the other kernel suites): - every default-routed language (all 20) survives a 60k-deep expression on the main thread — clean result or the wasm fallback's partial result, never a crash; - the reporter's exact 16,384-brace C file is indexed (partial) on the main thread; - 200-deep expressions in every language still take the kernel path clean (the guard never trips on normal code); - inside a **default-sized 4 MiB `worker_threads` Worker** through `dist/`: the reporter's `deep.c` and a 60k-deep expression in every language come back `deferred` with exit 0, and a normal file still extracts natively; - end-to-end through the built CLI: `codegraph init` on a repo holding `deep.c` + `ok.c` exits 0 and records both files, with both functions. **Existing kernel suites**: all 15 (`kernel-*-parity`, `kernel-scaffold`, `kernel-retry-materialize`, `kernel-grammar-parity`) pass unchanged, 147 tests — the guard never fires on the parity fixtures. **Reporter's probes** (`one.js` from the issue, default 4 MiB worker, this build): `deep.c` → `deferred`, exitCode=0 (was rc=132/139); `deep100k.c` → `deferred`, exitCode=0. Main thread: `deep.c` / `deep100k.c` → wasm partial with `Parse error: Maximum call stack size exceeded`; a 6,000-term binary expression and a 3,000-branch `else if` chain stay on the kernel path with clean results. **Perf** (same `dist/`, only the `.node` swapped via `CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_PATH`; interleaved main/new ×3, `codegraph init`, macOS arm64): | repo | main (median) | guarded (median) | nodes / edges | |---|---|---|---| | express (141 files) | 0.60 s (0.58–0.65) | 0.61 s (0.58–0.61) | 1,084 / identical | | redis (786 C/H files) | 4.44 s (4.39–4.66) | 4.49 s (4.41–4.70) | 19,942 / 76,446 identical | Within run-to-run noise, as expected for one TLS load + compare per recursion entry. **Linux (Docker, `node:22-bookworm`, kernel built in-container, `docker run --rm --init`)** — the reporter's platform and the glibc `pthread_getattr_np` bounds path: ``` === platform === Linux efe3cc86947b 6.12.54-linuxkit #1 SMP Tue Nov 4 21:21:47 UTC 2025 aarch64 GNU/Linux v22.22.3 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 35332288 Aug 22 18:02 codegraph-kernel/prebuilds/linux-arm64/codegraph-kernel.node === reporter repro (issue #1581): 16,384-brace deep.c, codegraph init === │ └ Done init exit code: 0 file: deep.c file: deep100k.c file: ok.c function: add function: bar function: foo === worker probe: kernel raw extract in a default 4 MiB worker === deep.c: deferred deep.c: worker exitCode=0 deep100k.c: deferred deep100k.c: worker exitCode=0 ok.c: kernel nodes=2 ok.c: worker exitCode=0 === cargo test stack:: (glibc pthread_getattr_np bounds path) === test stack::tests::os_bounds_are_sane_on_this_platform ... ok test stack::tests::small_stack_reports_its_own_bounds ... ok test stack::tests::normal_files_are_untouched_by_the_guard ... ok test stack::tests::deep_braces_c_defer_instead_of_crashing ... ok test stack::tests::latch_resets_between_runs ... ok test stack::tests::deep_parens_cpp_rust_ts_python_defer_instead_of_crashing ... ok test result: ok. 6 passed; 0 failed; 0 ignored; 0 measured; 15 filtered out; finished in 0.23s === vitest: kernel-deep-nesting + kernel-scaffold === ✓ __tests__/kernel-scaffold.test.ts (10 tests) 30ms ✓ __tests__/kernel-deep-nesting.test.ts (8 tests) 36989ms Test Files 2 passed (2) Tests 18 passed (18) ``` (The pre-fix crash was reproduced on macOS — rc=132 in a default worker, rc=139 on the main thread at 100k depth — not re-run inside this container; the reporter's Linux x86_64 trace is the SIGSEGV form of the same overflow.) **Windows (Parallels ARM64 VM, MSVC 14.44, `cargo 1.97`, kernel built on the VM, `GetCurrentThreadStackLimits` path)**: ``` head: cbf8485 fix(kernel): guard the native walkers against stack overflow and defer deep files to wasm (#1581) === cargo build --release (win32-arm64) === Finished `release` profile [optimized] target(s) in 2m 04s staged: 35086848 bytes === cargo test (stack guard unit tests) === test stack::tests::normal_files_are_untouched_by_the_guard ... ok test stack::tests::os_bounds_are_sane_on_this_platform ... ok test stack::tests::small_stack_reports_its_own_bounds ... ok test stack::tests::deep_braces_c_defer_instead_of_crashing ... ok test stack::tests::latch_resets_between_runs ... ok test stack::tests::deep_parens_cpp_rust_ts_python_defer_instead_of_crashing ... ok test result: ok. 6 passed; 0 failed; 0 ignored; 0 measured; 15 filtered out; finished in 0.49s === reporter repro: codegraph init on a 16,384-brace deep.c === └ Done init exit code: 0 === vitest: deep-nesting + scaffold (CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1) === ✓ __tests__/kernel-scaffold.test.ts (10 tests) 55ms ✓ __tests__/kernel-deep-nesting.test.ts (8 tests) 67239ms ✓ every default-routed language survives a 60k-deep expression on the main thread 52801ms ✓ inside a default-sized (4 MiB) parse worker, through dist/ > defers a 60k-deep expression in every default-routed language 13050ms ✓ end-to-end: codegraph init on a repo holding the deep file > exits 0 and records deep.c alongside the normal files 936ms Test Files 2 passed (2) Tests 18 passed (18) ``` (The end-to-end test is what reads the Windows index back through `node:sqlite` — `files` = `deep.c`, `ok.c`; functions `add`, `foo`.) fix(rust): resolve self.field.method() on the field's declared type instead of a same-named method (#1585) (#1599)
Fixes #1585. **Stacked on #1596** (the base branch is `fix/1588-rust-impl-type-qualification`; this PR's own diff is the second commit). Merge #1596 first, then retarget/merge this one. ## What was wrong ```rust impl Outer { pub fn run(&mut self) { self.inner.run(); // inner: Inner } } ``` produced `Outer::run -> Outer::run` — recursion the source doesn't contain. The extractor collapsed every `self.<field>.<method>()` receiver to the bare method name (`run`), so the resolver only ever saw `run` and exact-matched the nearest same-named method — the calling method itself, or a method of an unrelated type. Nothing marked the edge as a guess, and no row stayed in `unresolved_refs`, so a consumer had no way to tell. The same happened when the field's type isn't a project type at all (`its: std::vec::IntoIter<_>` → `self.its.next()`, `matcher: Regex` → `self.matcher.is_match()`): the bare `next` / `is_match` attached to whatever local method shared the name. ripgrep had 279 self-edges on `main`; the issue lists three sites, all of this shape. (The issue's C++ control — "`Outer::run -> Inner::run` resolves correctly" — doesn't actually hold on `main`: `inner.h` is classified as C by the `.h` heuristic, so `Inner::run` never exists and the C++ repro self-edges too. That's #1592, fixed separately.) ## What this does Rust struct fields are not graph nodes, so the field's type can only come from the struct's declaration text. This follows the Go 2-hop precedent exactly (`matchGoFieldChainCall`, #1276), including its exclusivity rule: 1. **Extraction (TS walker + native kernel, identical, parity-tested):** a call whose receiver is `self.<field>` keeps the owner-field shape — `self.inner.run()` is emitted as `self.inner.run`. Deeper chains (`self.a.b.m()`), call receivers (`self.f().m()`), parenthesized receivers and bare `self` keep the bare name, exactly as before. 2. **Resolution (`matchRustSelfFieldCall`):** owner type = the calling method's qualified-name prefix (`Outer::run` → `Outer`); the field's declared type is read from the owner struct's **own declaration lines** (comment-stripped, line by line — same discipline as the Go helper); the method is resolved **and validated** on that type by `resolveMethodOnType` (confidence 0.85, `instance-method`). 3. **Exclusive:** when the field is declared with an external type, a generic parameter (`T`), a container that doesn't auto-deref (`Option`/`Vec`/`Mutex`/…), or can't be found, the ref **stays unresolved** — it never falls through to the bare-name strategies. That is the safe behaviour the issue asks for, and it is what #1276 already chose for Go. `rustFieldTypeName` looks through exactly the layers Rust's method-call auto-deref looks through: references (`&`, `&'a mut`) and the owning smart pointers `Box`/`Rc`/`Arc`. `Box<dyn Source>` yields the trait, whose method node the interface-impl synthesizer then fans out to every implementation. `Option<Inner>` is left alone — `self.inner.take()` is Option's method and must not become `Inner::take`. Why it stacks on #1596: the owner is taken from the method's qualified name, which for a generic/lifetime impl was the trait's name before that fix. ## Measured on ripgrep (110 `.rs` files, #1596 build vs this branch) | | #1596 | this PR | |---|---|---| | nodes | 4029 | 4029 | | `calls` self-edges | 279 | **146** (none of the `self.<field>` shape remain — 116 bare-receiver, 30 other dotted) | | `self.<field>.m()` calls resolved through a validated field type | — | **292** (`DecompressionMatcher::command -> GlobSet::matches`, `Parser::find_long -> FlagMap::find`, `Haystack::path -> DirEntry::path`, …) | | `self.<field>.m()` calls left unresolved | — | **417** — every sampled one is a std/container method: `self.commands.push`, `self.child.wait`, `self.pre.is_some`, `self.colors.clone`, `self.path_terminator.unwrap_or` | | `calls` edges total | 9150 | 8878 (the 272 removed are the former bare-name guesses for those 417) | The issue's three sites: `walk.rs:824` now resolves to `IgnoreBuilder::add_custom_ignore_filename` (was a self-edge); `walk.rs:1195` (`self.its.next`, `IntoIter`) and `globset/lib.rs:983` (`self.matcher.is_match`, `Regex`) are parked as unresolved instead of guessed. The issue's repro gives `Outer::run -> Inner::run` (`instance-method`, confidence 0.85) on both the kernel path and `CODEGRAPH_KERNEL=0`. ## Tests - `__tests__/extraction.test.ts`: only the single-hop `self.<field>.<method>()` call keeps the prefix; deeper / call / parenthesized / bare-`self` receivers and a local receiver are unchanged. - `__tests__/resolution.test.ts` (end-to-end, Cargo layout): the issue's repro → `Outer::run -> Inner::run`, no self-edge; an external field type (`std::vec::IntoIter`) with a local `next` decoy → no edge at all; `Box<Inner>` and `&'a mut Inner` resolve, `Option<Inner>` does not (even though `Inner` declares the method); a generic `T` field → no edge; genuine `self.run()` recursion keeps its self-edge; the #1588 repro's `UsesFile::go` / `UsesBuf::go` resolve to `FileSource::read` / `BufSource::read`, and a `Box<dyn Source>` field lands on `Source::read` with the synthesizer fanning out to both impls. - `__tests__/fixtures/kernel-parity/torture.rs` grows the receiver shapes; all 15 kernel parity suites pass against the rebuilt kernel (147 tests). - Full `npm test` on this branch: 189 files, 3187 passed, 9 skipped, 0 failed. fix(rust): qualify generic/lifetime impl methods by the implementing type, not the trait (#1588) (#1596)
Fixes #1588. ## What was wrong The receiver of an `impl` block — the name that qualifies its methods, owns the `contains` edge, and sources the `implements` edge — was found positionally: the **last bare `type_identifier` child** of the `impl_item`. That works for `impl Source for FileSource`. But once the implementing type carries parameters it parses as a `generic_type`, and the only bare identifier left is the **trait's**: ```rust impl Source for FileSource → FileSource::read ✓ impl<T> Source for BufSource<T> → Source::read ✗ (should be BufSource::read) impl<'a> Iterator for Parents<'a> → Iterator::next ✗ impl Trait for &Foo → Trait::method ✗ ``` Two consequences, both reproduced on `main`: - `BufSource::read` did not exist in the graph, so `resolveMethodOnType("BufSource", "read")` and "who calls `BufSource::read`" had no answer, and every generic implementation of a trait collapsed onto the same trait-qualified name. - Because the impl's method carried the trait's qualified name, the interface-impl synthesizer treated the impl **body** as a second trait declaration and emitted a dispatch edge from it (`Source::read -> FileSource::read`, registered at the generic impl's line — a body of `{ 0 }` containing no call at all). The native kernel (`rustlang.rs`) mirrored the positional rule deliberately, bug-for-bug, to hold byte-parity with the TS walker — its header said "preserve, never fix via the grammar's trait:/type: fields". So the fix has to land on both sides at once. ## What this does Both extractors now read the grammar's **named fields** instead of scanning children. One shared rule (`rustImplTypeName` in `languages/rust.ts`, `impl_type_name` in the kernel), applied to `impl_item.type`: | implementing type | node | receiver | |---|---|---| | `Foo` | `type_identifier` | `Foo` | | `Foo<T>` / `Foo<'a>` | `generic_type` → its `type` field | `Foo` | | `m::Foo` | `scoped_type_identifier` → its `name` field | `Foo` (was: no receiver) | | `&Foo` / `&'a mut Foo` | `reference_type` → its `type` field | `Foo` | | `(A, B)`, `dyn Tr`, `*const T`, `u32`, fn types | anything else | none — extracted as plain functions, exactly as before | The `implements` back-reference reads `impl_item.trait` (full text, so `fmt::Display` and `From<u32>` keep their spelling) and bails when the field is absent (inherent impl). Everything else — the no-scope impl quirk, the source-order `contains` owner scan, method extraction — is untouched; the `contains` edge simply lands on the implementing type now instead of the trait. The kernel header comment, the parity test's description, and the two design docs that documented the quirk as "preserve" are updated to say what changed. ## Measured on ripgrep (110 `.rs` files, `main` build vs this branch) | | main | this PR | |---|---|---| | nodes / methods | 4029 / 2202 | 4029 / 2202 | | impl methods qualified by a **trait** name (node outside that trait's extent) | 61 | **0** | | `Iterator::*` methods | 2 | 0 | | duplicate method qualified names | 77 | 42 | | synthesized `interface-impl` edges originating **outside** any trait declaration (the phantom fan-outs) | 38 | **0** | | synthesized `interface-impl` edges originating at a real trait declaration | 33 | **52** | | plain (non-heuristic) `calls` edges | 9098 | 9098 | So the synthesizer lost every phantom edge and *gained* 19 legitimate fan-outs to implementations it could not previously see as implementations. `contains` edges went 5237 → 5224: the 13 removed were trait→impl-method edges produced by the mis-qualification. The issue's repro now gives `BufSource::read` at line 12, `BufSource -> Source`, and both synthesized edges registered at the declaration (line 2) — identical on the kernel path and with `CODEGRAPH_KERNEL=0`. (The remaining `UsesFile::go -> BufSource::read` exact-match guess there is the separate `self.field.method()` receiver problem, #1585, which stacks on this.) ## Tests - `__tests__/extraction.test.ts` (Rust Extraction): method qualified names for generic / lifetime / reference / scoped / generic-trait impls; the trait's qualified name names exactly one node; `implements` refs come from the implementing type for every shape; the `contains` edge lands on the type; tuple / `dyn` impls keep producing plain functions with no `implements` ref. - `__tests__/resolution.test.ts` (end-to-end): `Source::read` names only the declaration; dispatch fans out to **both** `FileSource::read` and `BufSource::read`, every synthesized edge registered at line 2; neither impl body sprouts a synthesized call. - `__tests__/fixtures/kernel-parity/torture.rs` grows all the new impl shapes; `kernel-rustlang-parity` (LF + CRLF) passes against the rebuilt kernel. - `CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1 npx vitest run __tests__/kernel-*.test.ts` — all 15 suites, 147 tests pass. - Full `npm test`: 3180 passed, 9 skipped, 1 failed — `mcp-daemon.test.ts > daemon idle-times-out after the last client disconnects`, a 30 s timing test that passed on re-run in isolation (the machine was running four parallel suites and kernel builds at the time); unrelated to extraction. fix(extraction): detect untracked files inside untracked directories (#1213) (#1215)
git status --porcelain collapses an entirely-untracked directory into a single '?? dir/' entry. collectGitStatus only recurses into such dirs to find embedded git repos, so source files in a plain untracked directory were never surfaced to sync — 'codegraph sync' reported 'Already up to date' and the watcher missed them too. Add -uall so git lists individual untracked files. Nested untracked git repos still collapse to '?? repo/' even with -uall (git never crosses a repo boundary), so the embedded-repo recursion is unaffected. Export getGitChangedFiles and add regression tests for both the plain untracked-directory case and the embedded-repo recursion (no -uall regression). fix(db): loop-append dense unresolved-ref result rows; make stripped-salvage visible (#1558) (#1576)
Real-world validation of #1575 on indexes damaged by the released v1.5.0 binary surfaced both of these. getUnresolvedReferencesByFiles chunked its INPUT under SQLite's parameter limit but appended each chunk's RESULT rows with a spread — every row becomes a call argument, so a dense recovery sync (the #1541 self-heal re-indexing 919 files produced 234,440 rows) exceeded V8's argument limit and killed resolution mid-sync with "Maximum call stack size exceeded", leaving the graph 226k edges short until another sync resumed the orphans (and that sweep resolves measurably worse than the batched path — see the follow-up issue). The failed-ref retry loader had the identical pattern on unbounded result rows. Both append with a loop now (#1558). The #1575 stripped-salvage warning also never rendered: init's summary prints only index_partial warnings and counts only hard errors, so a run with salvaged files still read as fully clean — and with no hard errors the detail wasn't written to errors.log either. Salvage entries now carry code 'salvaged_stripped', the summary prints a visible warning naming the files, and errors.log is written for salvage-only runs. Validated on real corpora with full-graph dumps: healthy-path inits stay byte-identical to the pre-#1575 baseline (cpython Lib, Alamofire, with a determinism control); a realistically-damaged index (41 wiped + 5 missing files, damage generated by the released binary) heals in one plain sync to identical per-file counts and an edge set within the normal incremental residual; pathological mass damage (52% of the repo) completes without crashing. New regression test reproduces the RangeError on the old code with 200k pending refs. Co-authored-by: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(extraction): decode kernel results in indexAll retry passes; self-heal wiped rows (#1541) (#1575)
The parse-pool workers return kernel-language extractions as an undecoded buffer transport (nodes/edges EMPTY, tables in kernelBuffers). indexAll's main loop decodes them (or hands the buffers to the store worker), but its two retry passes — plain retry and the comments-stripped last resort — stored the transport as-is: the storage gate passed via errors.length === 0, zero nodes were inserted, and the files row was written with node_count = 0 while the original error was spliced out of the summary. Any worker crash/timeout whose in-flight file was a kernel-routed language permanently recorded that file as "(0 symbols)" — silently, and immune to later syncs because the stored hash matches the on-disk bytes (#1541; v1.4.1 predates the kernel path, which is why it was unaffected). - Both retry passes now materialize kernel results before the gate, store, counters, and log lines. - storeExtractionResult materializes at entry as defense-in-depth, so no storage path can persist an undecoded transport again. - Zero-node rows on symbol-bearing languages (only the wipe produces these — every real extraction stores at least the file node) are dropped during full-reconcile sync and indexAll so already-affected files re-index automatically after upgrading. Scoped watcher syncs leave rows outside their scope untouched. - The comments-stripped salvage now downgrades the failure to a visible warning instead of erasing it: the recovered result can be incomplete, and reporting clean success made a fresh index quietly disagree with a later per-file re-parse of the same bytes (#1565's init-vs-sync divergence). Repro (released 1.5.0): CODEGRAPH_PARSE_TIMEOUT_MS=1 codegraph init on any Python project → "Retry OK: <file> (0 nodes)" and permanent "(python, 0 symbols)" rows. Fixed build stores real symbols under the same forcing, and heals rows wiped by prior runs. Co-authored-by: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(explore): recognize Wrangler-style "generated by … by running" banners (CG-25)
Cloudflare Wrangler's `worker-configuration.d.ts` (~12k lines of ambient types) carried no banner any GENERATED_CONTENT_PATTERNS entry matched: every existing marker requires `DO NOT EDIT`, a standalone `@generated`, `<auto-generated>`, or the literal `automatically/auto-generated by` phrasings. Wrangler emits a bare `Generated by Wrangler by running `wrangler types``, so the file ranked with pen 1.00 and won 79.4% of an explore envelope on generic token overlap alone (CG-24). The discriminator is the reproduction instruction, not the word "generated": the banner must name a tool AND then say `by running`, i.e. two separate "by" clauses. That keeps prose out — "the nightly summary is generated by running the ETL job" has only one — while catching every CLI-driven emitter that tells you how to regenerate. Precision swept over 441,856 files across the whole local source tree: 5 hits, all genuine Wrangler output, no false positives. Isolated before/after on the CG-24 repro (same query, same index, only the `files.generated` flag differing): before pen 1.00 score 115.0 share 79.4% 3 files rendered after pen 0.30 score 35.4 share 21.1% 4 files rendered The new pattern stays in the existing table position, below the header window the detector scans, so the module still does not classify itself. CG-33: converge incremental sync with a full rebuild
A live, auto-synced index did not converge to a clean rebuild of the same tree — 4.3% of distinct edges wrong in both directions on this repo's own index, overwhelmingly `calls`, which is what flow queries traverse and what explore's file ranking weights. Silent: nothing warned, and the symptom read as "codegraph isn't very good" rather than "this index needs rebuilding." Two causes, and the fix needed both. Resolution binds a reference to one of the same-named definitions PROJECT-WIDE, so a definition appearing or vanishing changes the correct answer for references in files the sync never touches — and those references resolved successfully once, which deletes their unresolved_refs row, leaving nothing to revisit them with (#1240's retry only revisits refs parked as failed). Separately, when nothing disambiguated the candidates the winner came down to rowid, i.e. the order files happened to be WRITTEN, which differs between a scan-order full index and a sync that appends each file as it changes. That second one is why re-resolution alone could not converge: re-resolving against the identical graph still picked a different candidate. So getNodesByName now orders by (file_path, start_line) — a property of the code, not of the write order — and sync computes a definitionDelta and re-opens the resolution edges whose answer it may have invalidated, re-inserting each as the reference that created it for the orphan sweep to bind against the post-sync graph. The delta compares `file\0name` pairs per file rather than one name set over the batch: a commit that adds `collect` to a new file while an unrelated changed file already defines `collect` cancels out of a batch-wide set, and that miss was the largest residual class in the first measurement. Conservative where the failure modes are asymmetric — a wrong deletion is a permanent edge loss, a missed rebind is only residual drift. Edges without a refName stamp are never touched (nothing to restore them from), sources the sync already re-extracted are skipped, and a per-name ceiling declines the generic names. Edges are deleted before the sweep re-inserts, since INSERT OR IGNORE against idx_edges_identity would otherwise keep both rows when a reference rebinds elsewhere. Replaying real commits of this repo through sync, then diffing against a rebuild: 16 commits 48 -> 0; 80 commits 1,634 -> 361, with the actively misleading direction (stale edges the index keeps asserting) 671 -> 2. Index and sync wall-clock are unchanged; the ORDER BY costs 18% per uncached name lookup, which never reaches wall-clock because the resolver memoizes it. The 357-edge residual at 80 commits is one pre-existing class: refs to generic names (`push`, `join`) parked above #1240's per-name retry ceiling, which a rebuild resolves into cross-language garbage — a TS test file "calling" an R method. Converging there would mean manufacturing wrong edges, so it is left alone. And no drift metric in `codegraph status`: it cannot be computed without the rebuild it would be recommending, and a proxy would fire on that residual and train users to ignore it. fix(c,cpp,objc,rust): index union declarations
A `union` declaration produced no symbol at all in any of the four
languages that have one. The type never entered the graph, and neither
did anything attached to it — in Rust every `impl Trait for MyUnion`
lost its edge, and the impl's methods were left with a qualifiedName
pointing at a type the graph did not contain.
`union_specifier` / `union_item` were absent from the extraction layer
entirely: no `<x>Types` list on the TS side, no dispatch branch in
either kernel walker.
They join `structTypes` (kind `struct` — NodeKind has no `union`), which
is the extension point the table-driven extractors already provide. The
body guard in extractStruct is untouched, so a bodiless `union U;` stays
a forward declaration and is still skipped, exactly like `struct U;`.
`resolveTypeAliasKind` accepts `union_specifier` too, so
`typedef union { … } N;` takes the typedef's name the way
`typedef struct { … } N;` already did. Without it the anonymous union
body would mint a second `<anonymous>` node beside the alias.
Both walkers change together so kernel<->wasm parity holds.

feat(extraction): content-based generated-file detection (CG-5, #1500)
`isGeneratedFile` was path-only, but Go's own convention is a CONTENT marker (`// Code generated by <tool>. DO NOT EDIT.`), not a filename one. A Go monorepo with generated CRUD in ordinarily-named files sitting beside hand-written use-cases was therefore invisible to every generated-file down-rank in the codebase — that is #1500. Measured on kubernetes/client-go (2,453 Go files): the canonical banner appears in 2,001 of them, the path check flags 0, the new content check flags exactly those 2,001 — no false positives, no misses. Design: decide at INDEX time (content is already in memory for parsing), persist on `files.generated`, read from the DB. Explore never reads file headers per request. - `hasGeneratedHeader(content)` recognizes the standard banners — Go's, protoc's, `@generated`, `<auto-generated>`, Thrift, OpenAPI Generator, FlatBuffers, bindgen, ANTLR. Precision-first and fenced three ways: an 8KB/60-line header window, a comment-line requirement (leader or open block comment), and markers tight enough that prose can't trip them. A generator's own source, holding the banner as a string constant in its body, is not flagged; neither is this module itself (pinned by test). - `isGeneratedFile(path)` is unchanged — cheap, sync, still the fallback. - Schema v9 adds `files.generated` + a PARTIAL index. DDL only, no backfill: the flag derives from content the migration cannot see, so rows stay 0 until a re-index and every reader unions the flag with the path check — an un-migrated index keeps pre-#1500 behavior rather than regressing. Re-index required; noted in the CHANGELOG. - `generatedPredicateFor(paths)` gives ranking a bounded probe + O(1) lookups. Bounded, not cached: no invalidation, so a ranking call can never serve a verdict the last sync already replaced. Wired into explore ranking, findSymbolMatches, findAllSymbols, search (MCP + CLI), the context formatter, and the dominant-file/route-file hygiene filters. Cost (acceptance bar was no measurable index-time regression): a single unanchored `/generat/i` test over the header rejects ~every hand-written file before any line splitting. 4.6 µs/file on client-go (worst case — 82% generated). End-to-end `codegraph init` on client-go, n=3 alternating arms: 5.73s median with detection vs 5.76s path-only baseline; the arms cross over between runs, so the difference is inside run-to-run noise. Scope note: generated status remains a stable TIEBREAK at equal score, exactly where it was. Making it a strong negative signal is CG-10, which this unblocks by making the signal correct and available. Two pre-existing tests hard-coded schema version 8; both now track CURRENT_SCHEMA_VERSION (or the migration table) so future migrations don't require editing them. fix(python): bare class references produce references edges to classes (#1478) (#1493)
Python's class-as-value idioms (return SomeClass, x = SomeClass, registry dicts, classes passed as arguments) produced no references edges, so callers/impact on a Django/DRF serializer missed the views that consume it. Three gates dropped them: - return_statement was never dispatched by PYTHON_SPEC (kernel mirrored) - the extraction gate (definedHere) collected function/method names only - resolution accepted function/method targets only (matchFunctionRef + the function_ref import fast path) Capture return_statement for Python (single expression; tuple returns not descended), admit same-file CLASS names to the gate, and accept class targets for Python bare identifiers — scoped to Python so the TS/JS KIND FILTER contract is untouched. The docopt false-positive mechanism behind the function-only rule (lowercase locals vs same-named methods) doesn't transfer: methods stay excluded for bare ids, and the same-file/import gate + unique-or-drop rules still apply. Probed on django-rest-framework (~250 files): 559 new references→class edges, 10/10 sampled genuine (serializer_class = AuthTokenSerializer, the ModelSerializer field-mapping registry, aliases, ctor args, isinstance). EXTRACTION_VERSION 24 → 25. Co-authored-by: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

perf(sync): adaptive quick-fire debounce + scoped watcher sync — save-to-graph well under a second at any scale (#1397)
Two changes to the watcher path (the always-on daemon every agent session uses), which previously paid a flat 2s debounce plus a full-tree scan-diff on every save even though the OS events name the exact files: 1. Adaptive debounce: a pending set of ≤2 files fires after a 300ms quiet window; ≥3 keeps the full configured window so agent multi-file bursts coalesce exactly as before. Re-arming preserves trailing-edge semantics; a user-set CODEGRAPH_WATCH_DEBOUNCE_MS remains the authoritative upper bound (quick window never exceeds it, floor 100ms). 2. Scoped sync: watcher-triggered syncs pass their pending paths, and the reconciler stats exactly those — per-path logic identical to the full walk (stat pre-filter, hash confirm, the #1240 removal/resurrection flow) — skipping the O(repo) scan and tracked-load. Strict fallbacks keep the full scan-diff as ground truth: directory removals (#1285 — the events can't name the children), empty pending sets (retry paths), and >500-file storms (branch checkouts, which also self-heal anything event coalescing dropped). filesChecked counts examined PATHS so a deletion-only scoped sync can't mimic the #449 lock-unavailable signature. Measured (warm in-process, the daemon path): dubbo one-file sync work 512→335ms, Swift compiler (27k files) 884→385ms — save-to-fresh-graph ≈0.6-0.7s end-to-end including the quick debounce, from ~2.5-6s perceived before. Gates: scoped-vs-full dumps byte-identical on dubbo AND the Swift compiler; watcher suite 30/30 (3 new: scoped pass-through, dir-removal fallback, quick-fire timing); sync suite 34/34 (4 new scoped-parity cases incl. delete-resurrection and the lock signature); full suite 2,696 ×2 with CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. perf(synthesis): provably-empty pass gates + prefilters — render/expo/rn/mybatis stop scanning repos they can't match; iface memo (#1389)
Store-arc round 2 (#1388 follow-up). The synthesis pool barrier on dubbo carried ~1.4s of passes that provably could not emit an edge for the project: reactRenderEdges fanned out over every class before checking for a render method (now: one indexed name lookup bounds candidates — not a language gate, Java Litho-style render+setState still matches); expo/rn cross-platform pairing streamed every method row without the languages their edges require (now registry-gated: expo needs swift AND kotlin file-languages, rn needs a JS-family caller for isBridge); mybatis built its full java-method index before discovering there were no mapper-XML methods (now collects the XML side first). ifaceEdges — real work — stops re-fetching a hub interface's methods once per implementer and skips supertype-less classes before any per-class lookup. dubbo warm wall 8.49-8.79 → 8.14-8.24s (n=3/arm, caffeinated); barrier 784→435ms; the full removed pass work lands on low-core envelopes where synthesis runs sequentially. Dumps byte-identical: dubbo old-vs-new, pooled-vs-sequential, kernel-vs-wasm (441,270 rows) + excalidraw JSX-live control (89,903 rows, 46 react-render edges reproduced). Suite 2,689 ×2 with CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. Also ships the diagnostics that located the round (zero cost when off): CODEGRAPH_RESOLVE_PROFILE=2 attributes per-ref time to resolveOne's strategies (stage:*) and the name-matcher's sub-matchers (nm:*); CODEGRAPH_SYNTH_TIMINGS now prints the store worker's decode-vs-SQL split. Killed by measurement, recorded in the PR: import-failure negative cache (both-outcome names exist — static imports resolve via instance-method on jvm-miss), jvm-miss early return (1,939 later-strategy edges), jsxEdges language gate (Java generics text produces jsx edges), and §4d buffer→bind on Spring repos (extract() hook forces the decoded path — kernel=0 bundles measured). R7b batch 4 #4 — the FINAL R7b language (docs/design/dart-kernel-port-checklist.md is the authoritative quirk list). The fourth vendored-grammar-C language, with a twist: production dart resolved its wasm from tree-sitter-wasms, whose dart dependency is an UNPINNED github:UserNobody14/tree-sitter-dart — a routine dependency update would have silently changed dart's grammar. This PR byte-copies the shipping 0.1.13 artifact into src/extraction/wasm/ (VENDORED_WASM_LANGS += dart) and compiles the same-commit (d4d8f3e337d8) parser.c/scanner.c in the kernel — table identity proven by the kernel-grammar-parity row. crates.io tree-sitter-dart is the nielsenko fork (different lineage) — rejected. The center of gravity is THE SIBLING-BODY DOUBLE-WALK, reproduced bug-for-bug: dart attaches every function/method body as a NEXT SIBLING of its signature, and the TS walkers consume each body TWICE — once via resolveBody (attributed to the function/method) and once via the enclosing generic walk (attributed to the file/class). Duplicate local-function nodes with the SAME id under different parents, duplicated calls/instantiates refs, and file/class-attributed fn-ref twins all emit in the exact observed interleave (a dedicated fixture pins the duplicate-id rows; the bloc kind-census spot-check pins the counts). Also preserved (probe-pinned): the extractBareCall selector matrix (the first callTypes=[] language — cascades completely invisible, `?.` encodes like `.`, the `ConfigT.load()` calls+references double emission with no callee-of-call skip, capitalized-chain `Foo.create().run` re-encode, const-object callee names); the constructor hooks (unnamed ctor skipped, named ctors/factories renamed to the CTOR name with the class as returnType, `@override (T) m()` record-misparse rescued by class-name validation); operator methods minting `method "<anonymous>"`; static_final_declaration constants via the visitNode hook while instance fields mint NOTHING; the prefixed-return-type prefix bug (`other.OtherClass f()` → returnType `other`); enum `with` mixins silent vs `implements` working; anonymous extensions named after the ON type; deferred imports invisible; named-argument callbacks NOT fn-ref-captured (the Flutter `onPressed:` idiom — future accuracy PR, TS-side first); `async*`/`sync*` NOT async; value-refs with the LIVE dart sibling-body pull and the `$X`-vs-`${X}` interpolation asymmetry; dartdoc kept in all three comment forms with the annotation-broken chain. Gates: parity sweeps first-run 0-diff on shelf/bloc/flutter — 5,815 clean files byte-parity, deferrals 10/21/1341 ≈ the survey's 10/21/~1340 (both-arm grammar reality: empty object patterns — the sealed-class idiom — and unnamed `library;` dominate; --max-deferral 0.3); full-init dumps byte-identical ×3 (shelf 7,959 / bloc 40,026 / flutter 1,855,319 dump lines); bloc per-kind node census identical across arms (the double-walk duplicate rows survive the store identically); kernel-dart-parity suite (7 fixtures + in-memory CRLF variants + double-walk duplicate-id pin + generated-file skip pin + two defer pins); full suite 2,688 green ×2 with CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. DEFAULT_ROUTED += dart (20 langs — R7b COMPLETE). Co-authored-by: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(kernel): R7b Scala walker — scala module, vendored-grammar-C master@0aca5d0a6f, scala default-routed (#1385)
R7b batch 4 #3 (docs/design/scala-kernel-port-checklist.md is the authoritative quirk list). The third vendored-grammar-C language and the biggest grammar in the tree (35MB parser.c): the vendored wasm is tree-sitter/tree-sitter-scala master@0aca5d0a6f — a post-v0.26.0 generation sync that is not a release (the 0.26.0 crate is 30 states BEHIND, so a crate pin would be a silent downgrade). NO wasm change: production has parsed with this exact revision since #91 — the kernel-grammar-parity row (ABI 15, 26,650 states, 32 fields, id-by-id tables) is the whole alignment proof. Preserved bug-for-bug (all probe-pinned): the leak-through asymmetries — extension methods mint NO nodes (first def's body calls leak to the enclosing scope, later defs invisible, and the braced form resolves its body field to the `{` TOKEN via first-match-wins field lookup → whole extension invisible); anonymous `new T { … }` template_body members leak to the enclosing scope (findAnonymousClassBody misses template_body); the bodied-vs-bodiless class asymmetry (bodiless headers walk class_parameters → default-value calls emit FROM the class; bodied ones never see them) — plus first-segment import names (`import com.example.C` → `com`), the val/var hook keyed on the enclosing-definition NODE TYPE (object vals → constants/value-ref targets, class/trait/enum/given vals → fields) with consumed initializers, every def routed through extractMethod with the top-level function fallback, nested defs in bodies minting NOTHING (the inverse of kotlin) while body-local classes extract fully, curried signatures keeping only the FIRST parameter list (type params win the `parameters` field), enum cases positioned at the CASE node with invisible params/extends tails, extends with-chains via scalaBaseTypeName, `@deprecated(args)` decorates, the #750 capitalized-chain re-encode (`WidgetS.create().render`), literal-receiver silence, static-member reads AND writes, infix invisibility, `derives` silence, scaladoc retention with the CRLF `\r` pin, full value-reference machinery (shadow prune, last-wins same-name targets, `$X`/`${X}` interpolation reads), and SCALA_SPEC fn-refs (bare ids + postfix eta unwrap + varinit, var-init non-capture). Gates: parity sweeps first-run 0-diff on os-lib/cats/scala3-compiler-src/ scala3-library-src — 1,935 clean files byte-parity, deferrals 0/15/57/116 matching the survey's predictions exactly (scala-3's PHANTOM hasError files — flag-true, zero ERROR nodes, capture-checking `^` — defer on the FLAG); full-init dumps byte-identical ×3 (os-lib, cats, scala3 whole-repo 950,889 dump lines); kernel-scala-parity suite (9 fixtures + 9 in-memory CRLF variants incl. Scala-3 indentation through the external scanner + phantom/real-error defer pins + first-segment/namespace/value-ref pins); full suite 2,669 green ×3 with CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1 (kernel-scaffold's stays-wasm example moved scala → pascal). feat(kernel): R7b Lua+Luau walker — one lua module, vendored-grammar-C lua v0.4.1, tree-sitter-luau 1.2.0 pin, both default-routed (#1384)
R7b batch 4 #2 (docs/design/lua-luau-kernel-port-checklist.md is the authoritative quirk list). ONE walker for both dialects (ccpp precedent) — the differences are exactly four: luau's type_definition aliases, the `export `-slice isExported hook, the return-type signature suffix, and the grammar handle. Grammar prep is kernel-side only, no wasm change: lua is the SECOND vendored-grammar-C language (the vendored wasm is the v0.4.1 tag, a revision not on crates.io — tag artifacts compiled via build.rs, shas pinned); luau is a plain crate pin =1.2.0 whose tarball is sha-identical to the tag (the swift tag≠crate divergence does not recur). Grammar-parity rows replace the bump gate entirely. Preserved bug-for-bug (all probe-pinned): the require/visitNode-hook ASYMMETRIES (top-level requires — including inside top-level if/for/while — mint import nodes while the identical body-level statement emits `calls "require"`; top-level `local x = foo()` initializers are invisible while global `x = foo()` calls emit), the BFS string-win inside require args (`require(script:WaitForChild("Kid"))` → import Kid) and Roblox instance paths, receiver-QN methods (`M.sub.deep::chained`, `_G::installed`, stack-QN nested globals like `render::leakedGlobal`), the raw-text callee world (colon forms with `self` never stripped, bracket callees, newline-glued chains byte-verbatim, the `(handler)` paren-conversion), LUA_SPEC function-as-value capture with the `M.cb = cb` param-storage skip and first-occurrence dedupe, LuaDoc `---` keeping a leading `- ` plus `--!strict` joining docstring chains (block-comment docstrings keep interior CRLF bytes), variable nodes at the IDENTIFIER with positional value pairing, duplicate same-(kind,name,line) ids, and the lua↔luau isExported wire divergence (lua functions: flag absent; luau functions: present-false; methods: absent in both; variables: present-false in both; `export type`: true). Gates: parity sweeps first-run 0-diff on kong/lazy.nvim/lua-resty-core (lua) + lune/Fusion (luau) — 1,734 clean files byte-parity, deferrals 1/0/0/3/8 matching the survey's both-arm predictions exactly (kong's 1 = a deliberately invalid fixture; luau's = grammar-inherent generic type packs and default type params); full-init dumps byte-identical kernel-vs-wasm ×4 (kong 157,650 dump lines); kernel-lua-parity suite (both torture fixtures + in-memory CRLF variants + glue-chain, duplicate-id, and cross-dialect defer pins + kernel-arm wire-flag pins); full suite 2,647 green ×2 with CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. feat(kernel): R7b R walker — rlang module, tree-sitter-r 1.2.0 crate pin, r default-routed (#1383)
R7b batch 4 #1 (docs/design/r-kernel-port-checklist.md is the authoritative quirk list; survey + probe record therein). The lightest-shared-surface, heaviest-hook port: languages/r.ts works entirely through the visitNode hook (every type list empty except callTypes:['call']), so the walker is a file node + a faithful hook transcription + the generic extractCall + pre-order recursion — four shared machineries (value-refs, static-member reads, type annotations, fn-ref capture) are dead by language gates and stay dead. Grammar prep is the first true no-op of the arc: the crates.io tree-sitter-r 1.2.0 tarball ships parser.c AND scanner.c sha-identical to the r-lib v1.2.0 tag the vendored wasm was built from — crate pin only, no wasm change, no bump gate; kernel-grammar-parity gains the r row (ABI 14, same-revision). Preserved bug-for-bug (all probe-pinned): calls "return" on every return(x) (named node in v1.2.0), the import quintet's silent dynamic-arg consumption vs class/generic fall-through asymmetry, library(help = pkg) importing the named arg, class-idiom variable suppression by callee name, chained/right- assign/precedence-ghost gaps, env$fn body-leak-to-file, raw-text callees verbatim (pkg::fn, obj$meth, "strfn" quotes kept, (handler) conversion), duplicate same-(kind,name,line) ids, roxygen dropped entirely, UTF-16 columns/slices. Gates: parity sweeps first-run 0-diff on AnomalyDetection/dplyr/ggplot2/ shiny (838 files; deferrals exactly 0/0/0/1 — the 1 is the moustache- template pseudo-R file, both-arm) — kernel-parity.mjs gained lowercased- extension matching so .R files sweep (matches detectLanguage routing); full-init dumps byte-identical kernel-vs-wasm on dplyr/ggplot2/shiny; kernel-r-parity suite (torture fixture + in-memory CRLF + BOM variants + defer pin + kernel-arm quirk pins); full suite 2,638 green ×2 with CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. feat(kernel): R7b Kotlin walker — kotlin module, vendored-grammar-C build, kotlin default-routed (#1382)
Sixth R7b port — the T1½ batch finale. Checklist-first recipe
(docs/design/kotlin-kernel-port-checklist.md, 1,121 lines, dist-extractor
ground truth); parity passed FIRST RUN on all three repos.
THE NOVEL MECHANISM — vendored-grammar-C (the §4 tracker's prescription,
first use): the crates.io tree-sitter-kotlin 0.3.8 pins `tree-sitter >= 0.21,
< 0.23` (the kernel links 0.25) and tree-sitter-kotlin-ng is a DIFFERENT
grammar (8 fields vs 0, renamed kinds — extractor-breaking), so no crate dep
is possible. The fwcd 0.3.8 tag's sha-matched parser.c + scanner.c are
vendored into codegraph-kernel/grammars/kotlin and compiled by build.rs (cc),
exposed via tree-sitter-language::LanguageFn. The wasm re-vendor is
behavior-NEUTRAL (0 CST/error disagreements across 1,984 gate-repo files;
old-vs-new full-init dumps byte-identical ×3) — a reproducibility re-vendor,
ABI stays 14.
Walker firsts: extension-function receivers (getReceiverType →
`WidgetK::extend` QN OVERRIDE with no package prefix, the qualified-receiver
`com::qext` first-segment bug, and the owner-contains fallback that excludes
`interface` kinds and is source-order dependent) and extractModifiers
(expect/actual platform modifiers → the node DECORATORS wire field on every
created node — the KMP synthesizer's feed, incl. `actual typealias`).
Preserved bug-for-bug: the FIELD_COUNT-0 dead cluster (no signatures, ZERO
type-annotation refs), hook-consumed property initializers emitting nothing
(incl. `by lazy {}`), the bodiless-vs-bodied class header asymmetry, enum-
entry bodies being invisible, KDoc never a docstring AND chain-breaking,
comment-gluing into import/package extents, `@Anno(args)` emitting nothing
while `@Marker` decorates, zero instantiates refs, the paren-then-lambda
`trailing()` garbage callee, text-includes visibility/suspend false
positives, and the packaged-file value-ref target drop. The fun-interface
misparse-recovery hook is DEFER-SHIELDED (every such file has_error) and
deliberately not ported. The swift-sweep lesson pre-applied: the shared
`assignment` shadow-prune case is implemented alongside the
property_declaration case.
Gates: sweeps 0-diff okio 299/322, okhttp 531/580, kotlinx.coroutines
1031/1082 (deferrals exactly the predicted 23/49/51 — both-arm grammar
reality incl. PHANTOM hasError files with complete CSTs; the kernel trusts
the flag); full-init dumps byte-identical ×3 (46.5k/108.9k/92.3k lines); KMP
expect/actual synthesis IDENTICAL across arms (412 edges on
kotlinx.coroutines — the tracker's KMP validation); kernel-kotlin-parity
suite (torture reflowed off the phantom shapes + .kts script + CRLF variants
+ fun-interface and phantom defer pins) + kotlin grammar-parity row (the
C-build ↔ wasm table identity proof); full suite 2,633 green ×2 under
CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. DEFAULT_ROUTED += kotlin (15 langs).

feat(kernel): R7b Swift walker — swift module, tree-sitter-swift 0.7.3 bump, swift default-routed (#1381)
Fifth R7b batch-3 port, checklist-first recipe (docs/design/swift-kernel-port-checklist.md, 1,056 lines — the largest of the arc, with a built-extractor-validated emission pin and a childForFieldName truth table). Grammar bump first, validated standalone: tree-sitter-wasms ^0.4.0 (ABI 13) → crate 0.7.3 — with a provenance twist: the wasm is built from the CRATE TARBALL's src/ (alex-pinkus keeps generated files off main and the 0.7.3-with-generated-files tag ships an older ABI-14 generation that can never sha-match; grammar.json rules are JSON-equal; the tarball is byte-for-byte what the kernel's cargo build compiles — table identity by construction). Older crates evaluated and rejected: clean-parse shapes are byte-identical on 0.7.3 (53-line CST battery diff, all inert), so an older pin buys nothing and loses the macro-era wins. Delta = error-set membership (63 old-error files parse clean: swift-testing #expect, #Preview/#GET macros, package access, typed throws — vapor 23.1%→9.3%; 21 NEW-only regressions in 3 probed construct classes) + two gate-found categories: docstring boundaries near #if directives (7 clean files, docstring-field-only — verified mechanically) and array-literal-callee call refs (2 refs, 1 file). Every hunk classified via the error-union rule + parked-ref↔edge ripple pairing. Walker (the arc's biggest) centers on the #1020 DEDICATED property branch: computed properties → property nodes with the getter walked under the property (SwiftUI body), static let/var → constant/variable, stored → field, decorator/type-annotation/@Siblings-attr-arg refs all attached to the ENCLOSING TYPE, stored initializer calls attributed to the class. Preserved bug-for-bug: the never-resolving 'parameter' field (zero param type refs, zero signatures), present-false isAsync, open→internal visibility, everything-is-extends inheritance (first type_identifier per specifier), no instantiates refs ever, subscript reads as `calls arr`, `defer` as `calls defer`, multi-case enum entries minting only the first case, /** */ block docs ignored AND chain-breaking, init/deinit/subscript minting no nodes with visitNode-routed bodies (calls → class, static reads → nothing), multi- segment extension resolveName, sugar extension names, the #selector shapes, and the value_argument label-forward skip. ONE fix found by the sweep (then pinned in the fixture + checklist): the shared `assignment` shadow-prune case is swift-live — declared-then-assigned `let X: T` prunes X as a value-ref target. Gates: sweeps 0-diff Alamofire 89/98, vapor 224/247, swift-nio 407/554 (--max-deferral 0.3 — swift error incidence is 9–27% on BOTH arms, structural; every deferral count matches the survey's table exactly); full-init dumps byte-identical ×3 (31.9k/20.7k/126.3k lines); the Alamofire census reproduces property=348 (the #1020 number) on the kernel arm; kernel-swift-parity suite (206-line torture + CRLF + the #if-between-enum- cases defer fixture) + swift grammar-parity row; full suite 2,626 green ×2 under CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. feat(kernel): R7b PHP walker — php module, tree-sitter-php 0.24.2 bump, php default-routed (#1380)
Fourth and final R7b batch-2 port, checklist-first recipe (docs/design/php-kernel-port-checklist.md). Grammar bump first, validated standalone with the diff ENUMERATED + CLASSIFIED (unlike rust/ruby the php bump is NOT graph-neutral): tree-sitter-php ^0.22 (tree-sitter-wasms, 2023) → v0.24.2, the full HTML-interleaving `php` variant (the walker calls LANGUAGE_PHP, never PHP_ONLY) — crate pinned =0.24.2, wasm built from tag 5b5627f's checked-in php/src/parser.c + scanner.c + shared common/scanner.h (all sha-matched against the crates.io tarball, ABI 14→15). Old-vs-new full-init diffs decompose completely into: (1) the anonymous_class wrapper shape (anon-class nodes/methods re-shape — 2,532 rows), (2) grouped nested-clause skip (absent in the gate repos, fixture-pinned), (3) 32 formerly-erroring files parsing clean (monolog Level.php, symfony Request/Response with 8.4 property hooks), (4) a survey-missed category found at gate time: the 8.4 parenthesis-free `new X()->m()` chaining misparse fix (86 garbage instantiates refs disappear, precision-positive), plus resolution RIPPLE proven mechanically (every remaining ref-table flip pairs 1:1 with a resolved edge on the opposite side; node rows byte-stable outside 1/3/4). Walker (java.rs chassis + the php specifics) preserves bug-for-bug: the visitNode hook (const_declaration at ANY scope → bare `constant` nodes, values never walked; trait-use → implements refs WITH filePath via the ruby port's REF_FLAG_FILE_PATH wire slot), FIRST-namespace whole-file scoping (braced namespaces scope nothing; namespaced files DROP top-level const value-ref targets), the import trio (single/aliased/grouped incl. the nested-clause skip, include/require static-literal-only, `Foo\Bar::Baz` use refs), the call-encoding zoo (DOT-joined scoped calls, `this->prop.m` #1251 encoding, `Cls::factory().m` fluent with inner args dropped, nullsafe `?->` emitting nothing, unsuppressed literal receivers), interface multi-extends first-base-only drop, anon-class methods as file-level functions (top) or vanishing (in-body), property type-hints emitting no field refs, the final-modifier-as-type signature quirk, HOF-gated string callables (skipGate) + array callables, and the `name`-node value-ref reader. Gates: sweeps 0-diff monolog 217/217, laravel-framework 3007/3008, symfony 10726/10737 (13,950 files byte-parity; 12 deferrals = exactly the predicted genuinely-broken fixtures, ≈0–0.1%); full-init dumps byte-identical ×3 (16.1k/354.2k/702.8k lines); kernel-php-parity suite (torture + drupal .module + leading-HTML fixtures, CRLF variants, wire-flag pin, defer) + php grammar-parity row; full suite 2,622 green ×2 under CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. feat(kernel): R7b Ruby walker — ruby module, tree-sitter-ruby 0.23.1 bump, ref-flag wire slot, ruby default-routed (#1379)
Third R7b port, checklist-first recipe (docs/design/ruby-kernel-port-checklist.md). Grammar bump first, validated standalone (the rust pattern): tree-sitter-ruby ^0.20.1 (tree-sitter-wasms, 2024-02) → v0.23.1 — crate pinned =0.23.1, wasm built from tag 71bd32f's checked-in parser.c/scanner.c (both sha-matched against the crates.io tarball; content bump, ABI stays 14). Old-vs-new full-init dumps: sinatra/jekyll byte-identical; rails = exactly the one classified hunk (the `recv&.!=` safe-nav operator misparse fix, `table_name.!` → `table_name.!=`, precision-positive). Walker (python.rs chassis + the six ruby divergences) preserves bug-for-bug: the importTypes:['call'] funnel (class-body DSL — attr_accessor, has_many, define_method incl. its block, sinatra route blocks — emits NOTHING at non-body scope), hook-handled module multiply-capture (nested modules re-scan their subtree per level after popping — `this.hooked` fn-refs from class AND module AND file), the sibling-scan visibility trio (bare `private` invisible; `private :sym`/`private def` poison all later defs; the inner def stays public), bare-call statements (do…end body_statement emits, brace-block block_body doesn't), `.new` instantiates with last-`::`-segment names, constant-receiver references refs, require/require_relative path refs (posix-normalized, `.rb`-suffixed, `Kernel.require` and interpolated-path quirks included), `=begin` docstring marker survival, and the reverse-order value-ref DFS. Wire v2: the hook's mixin `implements` refs carry `filePath: ctx.filePath` — the ONE extraction-ref denormalized field (php's trait-use refs share the shape). RefRow's first pad byte becomes a flags slot (REF_FLAG_FILE_PATH); decode re-attaches its own filePath parameter; KERNEL_ABI_VERSION 1→2 on both sides (mismatched dist/.node pairs degrade to wasm, as designed). Gates: sweeps 0-diff sinatra 147/147, jekyll 164/164, rails 3452/3452 (3,763 files, 0 deferrals — ruby error incidence 0.00%, any deferral = walker bug); full-init dumps byte-identical ×3 (7.2k/9.4k/375.6k lines); kernel-ruby-parity suite (torture + CRLF + wire-flag pin + defer) + ruby grammar-parity row; full suite 2,613 green ×2 under CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1 (one unrelated mcp-initialize timing flake under parallel load, passes solo 3/3 ×3). feat(kernel): R7b C# walker — csharp module, tree-sitter-c-sharp 0.23.5 pin, csharp default-routed (#1378)
Second R7b port, checklist-first recipe (docs/design/csharp-kernel-port-checklist.md; parity passed FIRST RUN again). No grammar bump — the #717 vendored wasm verified table-identical to crate 0.23.5 (ABI 15, STATE_COUNT 8053, node-kind + field tables); first port with no grammar-prep step. The #237 #if-blanking preParse stays TS-side via the existing route-point hoist. Walker preserves bug-for-bug: the single-namespace-node quirks (second namespace nests under the first, nested namespaces leave no trace, import refs hang off the namespace node), raw member-access callee texts (this./base./literal receivers, multi-line fluent chains) with unconditional chain re-encode, deliberate emission holes (property accessor/expression bodies, ctor initializers, delegates/events/ operators/indexers/local functions, top-level locals), garbage extends refs ((repo) primary-ctor args, BaseDto(Name) record bases, enum : byte), the alias- import moduleName quirks, nameof-as-call, CSHARP fn-ref spec (+= subscription, this.X bare-name form, argument layer, initializer lists), C# type-ref engine (nested-generic returnType failure included), and value-ref shadow pruning. feat(kernel): R7b Rust walker — rustlang module, tree-sitter-rust 0.24.2 bump, rust default-routed (#1371)
First R7b language port. Grammar: tree-sitter-rust pinned =0.24.2 + wasm vendored from tag 77a3747 (parser.c/scanner.c sha-matched against the crates.io tarball), replacing the 2023 ABI-14 tree-sitter-wasms build — the bump alone is precision-positive on the wasm path (receiver-qualified instance-method resolutions replace ambiguous bare-name matches; node sections byte-identical on ripgrep/tokio). Walker mirrors the TS reference bug-for-bug per docs/design/rust-lang-kernel-port-checklist.md (survey artifact): dead-code isAsync, impl-pushes-no-scope, the impl-Trait-for-Generic<T> trait-receiver quirk, phantom const identifiers, use-binding triple emission, wildcard-use-emits-nothing, scoped-supertrait drop, chained-call re-encode gated on scoped_identifier, Rocket route macros body-only. Gates: parity sweeps 0 diffs — ripgrep 101/101, tokio 790/790, rust-analyzer 1217/1488 (271 deferrals are token-macro-table sources that error on BOTH arms — grammar-inherent); full-init dump-diffs byte-identical on all three (3,857 / 13,440 / 39,030 nodes); kernel-rustlang-parity suite (torture + CRLF + defer) in npm test; full suite green x2 with CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. perf(kernel): cFnPtr native extraction sweep — step 2, pass 230→151s across the arc (§7a.10) (#1365)
Task #5 step 2. The fuse-then-link refactor (#1364) left the extraction sweep as a clean per-file boundary: raw text in → collected facts out. This ports that sweep to the native kernel: `cfnptr_scan_files` (codegraph-kernel/src/cfnptr.rs) strips and scans a batch of 16 files per NAPI call, and the TS side only reads files, ships batches, interns the returned facts, and resolves include paths. The JS sweep remains as the fallback (no binary, feature detection against older binaries, CODEGRAPH_KERNEL=0, or CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_CFNPTR=0). Parity discipline: the JS regexes are the spec, so the scanners are hand-rolled byte machines reproducing that engine — ASCII \w/\b next to UNICODE \s (NBSP/U+2000-200A/FEFF decoded from UTF-8), alternation order, lastIndex resume, and the observable backtracking dimensions (INIT/ARRAY modifier and struct/star/bracket optionals, DISPATCH's greedy segment loop); greedy shortcuts only where backtracking provably can't rescue a match. The native stripper blanks per UTF-16 code unit, so its output is string-identical to the TS stripper — pinned by a new kernel arm on the strip differential oracle (fixtures + 500 seeded random cases). Gates, all green: new differential suite (adversarial fixture project — CRLF, NBSP, continuations, decoy strings, unterminated comments, backtracking shapes — indexed native-vs-JS: identical edge streams, plus a record-level scanner check); repo differential on git/redis/vim/SameBoy (identical, 705/852/433/180 edges); probe-hash on the live linux kernel DB reproduced f6e1713d… (279,335 rows); linux init counts exact 2,049,153/6,413,518; dump sha 6dd1185b… reproduced (10,446,478 lines); full suite green ×2 (153 files / 2588 tests). Measured (8c cg1212, quiet host): cFnPtr sub A=47.9s B=1.1 C=40.9 D=24.1 E=36.8 = 150.9s vs step 1's 179s and the pre-arc 230s (−34% cumulative); the sweep itself halved (94.5→47.9s, JS strips 132.4k→68.9k). callback-synthesis phase 199.9→171.1s. E's attributed wall grew from overlap shift under parallel synthesis; the phase total is the honest number. Full record: plan §7a.10. Co-authored-by: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(extraction): C deferral round 2 — 8 new preParse passes, linux kernel/+mm/ deferral 58.6%→33.9% (#1353)
Census-driven cut of the top-ranked post-R7a lever. All passes TS-side, C-only (preParseCSource), shared by both arms: - parameterized-annotation whole-blank (__free/__printf/__counted_by/ __bpf_md_ptr…; extends through a stranded field `;`) - type-keyword-arg scanner (kzalloc_obj(struct T), list_entry, multi-line continuations behind nested-paren args; bounded hand scanner, head exclusions + call-vs-declaration guard; blanks trailing stars) - static/extern CAPS-macro declaration lines at any scope; the initialized form is REWRITTEN to its expansion (name/tail keep exact offsets) - va_arg qualified-type blank; GNU named-variadic #define dots-only blank (post-restore); sandwiched notrace-family; C23 auto; multi-line iterator-macro spans (hlist_for_each_entry_rcu + lockdep arg) - word list += cacheline family (2- and 4-underscore spellings) + 10 more census-confirmed annotations Gates: five-repo parity sweeps 0 diffs (git deferral 16.1→12.2%, redis 25.3→24.1%, fmt/protobuf unchanged); linux full-tree both arms 2,049,153 nodes / 6,413,518 edges (+858/+6,585 vs R7a) with byte-identical dumps (10,446,478 lines, sha256 6dd1185b); kernel-arm parse-loop 356→306s at 2c; suite 2517 green under CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. Honesty note recorded in the docs: error recovery was already salvaging most SYMBOLS on deferred files — the graph win is relationships + phantom cleanup, and the unreleased CHANGELOG entry was rewritten off the sweep-subset framing. Also records §7a.5: post-R7a 8-core cg1212 re-run 16.4min (was 18.3min); 8c parse sits on the single-writer floor, so the <10min-on-8c gap re-ranks to the per-ref resolution path. feat(kernel): R7a C/C++ walker — dual-lang ccpp module, preParse hoist, 7 new blanks, c/cpp default-routed (#1346)
Parity: 0 diffs on redis/git/fmt/protobuf/ALS sweeps; full-init dumps byte-identical on all five + linux at kernel scale (10.4M dump lines, same sha256 both arms). Linux 2c/6GB envelope: kernel-arm 19.1min vs wasm-arm 22.9min (parse 356s vs 435s) on a much richer graph (the new blanks recover error-swallowed code: git 2x nodes, linux kernel/+mm/ 3x). Deferral guard corrected by measurement (C/C++ error incidence 9-42%; --max-deferral flag); defer-reuse memo kills the 3x re-blank/re-parse cost deferred files paid. feat(extraction): vendor current C/C++ grammars (R7a prep) — c v0.24.2 + cpp v0.23.4, sha-matched (#1345)
tree-sitter-wasms shipped 2023-era C/C++ grammars; the kernel walker must compile the crates.io versions, so production wasm upgrades FIRST and in isolation (the R2 pattern). Built with tree-sitter-cli 0.25.10 from each tag's CHECKED-IN parser.c: tree-sitter-c v0.24.2 (b780e47, parser.c f2883ff9), tree-sitter-cpp v0.23.4 (f41e1a0, parser.c 2a35a43b, scanner.c cf60387d) — sha-matched against the crates.io tarballs. .metal/.cu map to language 'cpp' so the dialects ride the same coherent grammar. Full suite green with the upgraded grammars (2,490; one unrelated daemon idle-timeout flake passed solo 9/9) — incl. the UE-macro, misparse-guard, Metal, and CUDA coverage. fix(db,resolution): WAL file cap + cgroup cache credit + pool/parse sizing corrections from the instrumented kernel-scale runs (#1335)
Four §7a.1 instrumented-run findings, each measured: 1. File-size trigger + truncate-at-barrier: a fully-backfilled WAL still grows the FILE without bound — the writer only restarts at frame 0 when a commit finds zero reader marks, which the instrumented run showed never happens (file marched 361→721MB through two COMPLETE backfills; 22GB by phase end). backpressure() now also trips at 4× the soft cap on raw file size and TRUNCATEs at the parked barrier; the timer path truncates opportunistically after complete backfills. Dubbo peak: 251MB → 69MB at the same 16MB valve; dumps byte-identical under aggressive folding. 2. cgroup memory credit: memory.current counts reclaimable page cache — a post-parse container read 57MB of headroom on a 6GB box and silently disabled the pool. inactive_file is credited back (the docker-stats working-set convention); the same run now reads a sane 4.4GB budget. 3. Pool at 2 cores reversed: sequential resolution measured FASTER than pooled-6-on-2 at kernel scale (853s vs 1,150s), and synthesis is Amdahl-bound by cFnPtrEdges (306s of 358s) so pooling it bought nothing. cpuCap = min(ap−1, 6), no floor: ap=2 → sequential is the fast path. 4. Parse floor of 2: one parse worker at a 2-cpuset measured 34% slower (493s vs 369s) — main + store-worker don't fill the second core. Floor restores the baseline (373.5s measured). Plus the observability §7a.1 burned three 25-minute cycles for: valve armed/fire/timer-pass/heartbeat lines, checkpoint-worker error capture, pool sizing decisions (incl. the disabled path), backpressure-hook presence — all behind CODEGRAPH_SYNTH_TIMINGS / CODEGRAPH_WAL_VALVE_DEBUG. Suite: 2,490 passed / 4 skipped (kernel required). Kernel-scale record runs with this build follow in the migration plan §7a.1. Co-authored-by: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(resolution): memory-aware, cgroup-honest worker-pool sizing + CODEGRAPH_RESOLVE_WORKERS (#1333)
Pool sizing used os.cpus().length, which enumerates the HOST's CPUs: inside a 2-CPU cpuset it sized 6 resolver workers (the §7a.1 false-'sequential' premise) and 8 parse workers, and at true 8-core concurrency six ~1GB workers OOM-killed a 7GB container (oom_kill=5) mid-synthesis — sizing had no memory term and no override knob. resolvePoolSize (pure, matrix-tested): explicit CODEGRAPH_RESOLVE_WORKERS override (0 disables, cap 16); CPU term max(2, min(availableParallelism-1, 6)) — cpuset-honest, floored at 2 so true 2-core boxes keep pooled synthesis's ~2×; memory term floor(budget*0.7 / clamp(0.2*dbSize, 256MB, 1.5GB)) with budget = min(freemem, cgroup v2/v1 headroom). Parse pool's core input switches to availableParallelism. Dev machines are unchanged (still 6 workers); the 8c/7GB kernel-scale container now sizes 4. feat(kernel): R5 — Python and Go ports, gates passed, default-on
Python (codegraph-kernel/src/python.rs) and Go (src/go.rs) join the native kernel, mirroring the wasm extractors bug-for-bug. Python: decorated_definition docstrings/decorators (decorates refs only for bare-identifier decorators — the call-kind quirk), function-in-class → method, module-level assignments always extract as variable, from-import per-name binding refs, self.x fn-ref candidates as bare names. Go: receiver methods with Recv::name qualified names + contains edges to the first earlier struct of that name, type_spec struct/interface classification with embedding→extends and interface method nodes, composite-literal instantiates keeping the package qualifier, top-level var/const initializer walks attributed to the declared symbol (#693), 2-hop field chains (#1276), New().Method() re-encode (#645/#608), and the GO_SPEC fn-ref layers. Grammars: tree-sitter-python 0.23.6 + tree-sitter-go 0.23.4 crates, with wasm vendored from the same tags (parser.c sha-matched) — both were 2023-era in tree-sitter-wasms. Gates: extraction sweeps 100% (flask 83/83, django 3,035/3,038 +3 error-file deferrals, gin 99/99, prometheus 978/979 +1); full-init dump-diffs byte-identical on flask (10,833 rows), gin (17,540), django (360,794), and prometheus (213,758); torture fixtures enforced in npm test. perf(kernel): direct-to-store decode — buffers flow to the store worker, main thread never materializes nodes
Kernel-routed files ship their flat tables from the parse worker to the store worker as buffers (tryKernelExtractRaw → kernelBuffers on the result → KernelStoreBundle); the store worker decodes and finalizes (finalizeStoreBundle shared with the object path so filter semantics can never drift). Files with applicable framework extract() hooks keep the decoded path; the no-writer fallback materializes via materializeKernelResult. Byte-identical dumps re-verified on dubbo, excalidraw, express, gson; full suite green (2,467). Measurement (plan §4d): dubbo's parse-loop wall is 94% store-writer busy time — the many-core fresh-index wall is single-writer SQLite ingest, not extraction or main-thread work. d2s improves the writer lane ~11% (structured-clone deserialization avoided on the writer) and frees the main thread; the remaining many-core gap is a store-architecture arc (deferred index builds, multi-file transactions, buffer→bind), out of the kernel project's scope. feat(kernel): R4 — Java port with Lombok synthesis, gate passed, default-on
Java joins the native kernel (codegraph-kernel/src/java.rs), mirroring the wasm extractor's Java paths bug-for-bug: package namespaces, imports, javadoc, annotations→decorates, type_list inheritance, static-final constants, enum constants, anonymous classes (including the TS side's 0-based-line quirk on the extends ref), method_invocation calls with the this.field unwrap and the Foo.getInstance().bar() chain encoding (#645/#608), static-member value reads, method-reference fn-refs (#756), value-reference edges, and the full Lombok member synthesizer (#912: Getter/Setter/Data/Value/Builder/ToString/ EqualsAndHashCode/Slf4j-family with taken-member dedup). The shared docstring/textutil modules moved to crate level. Grammar: tree-sitter-java 0.23.5, with the wasm grammar vendored from the same tag (parser.c sha-matched) replacing tree-sitter-wasms' 2023-era build. Gate (plan §4c): extraction sweeps 100% — gson 262/262, retrofit 341/341, dubbo 4,048/4,048 — plus a Java torture fixture in npm test; full-init dump-diffs byte-identical on gson (49,766 rows), retrofit (62,735), and dubbo (441,266 rows); all R2/R3 repos re-verified; Linux container runs all 23 kernel tests green under CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. The gate caught a real cross-language bug: fn-ref dedupe and value-ref self-target checks must compare node ID STRINGS, not node-table rows — ids collide for same-(kind, name, line) nodes, which minified one-line bundles hit routinely (retrofit's website JS exposed it; latent in the TS/JS walker since R2, never released). Fixed in both walkers. Benchmark honesty: dubbo fresh-init on an 11-core Mac is ~flat (parse-loop wall 5,020→4,394ms; total ~11.3s both arms) because that wall is main-thread-bound (reads + store), not worker-CPU-bound — the §6 expectation assumed otherwise. Where worker CPU binds the kernel delivers: dubbo on a 2-CPU/6GB container drops 27.8-28.6s → 22.3-22.8s (~1.25×). The identified lever for the many-core headline is decoding kernel buffers directly into store rows (skipping per-node JS object materialization); the buffer contract already carries everything. DEFAULT_ROUTED now includes java. Full suite: 2,467 tests pass. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

feat(kernel): R3 — TS/JS equivalence gate passed, kernel default-on
Gate evidence (docs/design/rust-kernel-migration-plan.md §4b):
- Graph parity, byte-identical (stronger than the §5 ≤0.5% bar): full
codegraph-init dump-diffs kernel-vs-wasm on express (13,712 rows),
excalidraw (89,898), and vscode (2,378,238 rows) — identical bytes.
Python control repo (flask) identical + timing unchanged. The parity
harness is now ORDER-sensitive (emission order drives rowids, which
drive resolution order) and dumps come from the new
scripts/dump-graph.mjs (natural keys, no rowids/timestamps).
- The one real find, caught by the vscode tier: tree-sitter error
RECOVERY is encoding-dependent — byte-identical grammar sources and
the same core (0.25.10) recover erroring files differently under
UTF-8 (native) vs UTF-16 (web-tree-sitter) parsing; proven by
reproducing the wasm tree with a native UTF-16 parse. Policy: the
kernel defers any file whose tree has_error() to the wasm extractor
(silent 'defer:' signal, per file) — parity by construction on
erroring files (incidence 0-0.42% across the gate repos), and the
harness fails if deferrals exceed 10% so a broken kernel can't hide
behind the fallback.
- Retrieval invariants: canonical excalidraw flow (mutateElement →
renderStaticScene) connects end-to-end on the kernel-indexed graph;
synthesized-edge families present. Agent A/B is vacuous under
byte-identical DBs (same justification as #1320-#1322).
- Perf: vscode init 105.4s → 82.1s (1.28×) on an 11-core Mac;
excalidraw on a 2-CPU/6GB Linux container (the CI-runner envelope)
6.2-7.1s → 4.3-4.8s (~1.5×). Linux arm64 in-container build: all 22
kernel tests green under CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. Windows VM leg
deferred (VM stopped; prlctl start needs Parallels Pro) — benign: a
missing .node falls back to wasm, and the release matrix builds and
gates the win32 prebuilds.
- Full suite: 2,465 tests pass WITH default-on routing, so the entire
extraction corpus now exercises the kernel for TS/JS wherever a
.node is staged.
DEFAULT_ROUTED = {typescript, tsx, javascript, jsx}. Override:
CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_LANGS (replaces the set) / CODEGRAPH_KERNEL=0 (kill).

feat(kernel): R2 — full TypeScript/JavaScript extraction port, byte-parity with the wasm path
Replaces the R1 seed .scm emitter with a bespoke Rust walker (codegraph-kernel/src/tsjs/) that mirrors TreeSitterExtractor's TS/JS paths function-for-function: declarations (incl. #808 field/property classification), qualified names, docstrings (#780 wrapper climbs), signatures, imports/re-exports + per-binding refs, calls with receiver-qualified callees (#1230 literal-receiver skip), instantiations, decorators, inheritance, type annotations (#381), type-alias members + tuple contracts (#359/#634), React component recognition (#841 forwardRef/memo/styled), object-of-functions / zustand-through-middleware / RTK Query endpoints + generated hooks / vuex + pinia store shapes, function-as-value capture with the flush gate (#756), and value-reference edges with the shadow prune (#895/#897). The generic query emitter is deleted — extraction parity needs logic .scm can't express; future languages get walkers too (migration plan §4a). Positions and JS string-slice semantics are emitted in UTF-16 code units natively, so kernel output is byte-identical to web-tree-sitter's — no column diff class exists. Parity evidence (macOS): scripts/kernel-parity.mjs (full-object multiset diff per file) — this repo 353/353 files, excalidraw 643/643 (10,650 nodes / 10,726 edges / 68,307 refs), plus torture fixtures checked into __tests__/fixtures/kernel-parity/ and enforced in npm test by kernel-tsjs-parity.test.ts. The strict compare caught one real decoder bug the loose harness missed: refs must NOT carry denormalized filePath/language at the extractFromSource seam (the store fills them). Perf: extraction 2.6× single-thread on excalidraw (487ms vs 1,255ms, identical outputs). Routing stays opt-in (CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_LANGS) until the R3 equivalence gate (large repo, DB dump-diff, retrieval invariants, agent A/B, Linux/Windows) passes. feat(kernel): R1 scaffold — napi-rs extraction kernel, buffer contract, routing + fallback, grammar-parity CI
Phase 0 of the Rust extraction-kernel migration (docs/design/ rust-kernel-migration-plan.md, now checked in with §3a recording the shipped state): - codegraph-kernel/ napi-rs crate: extractFile(path, content, language) → five flat buffers (meta/nodes/edges/refs/arena), one JS boundary crossing per file. Node ids computed Rust-side, byte-identical to generateNodeId (pinned by test vector). Reserved per-node metrics slot for the Arc 3.2 code-metrics work. - Generic .scm-driven emitter (@def.<kind>/@name/@ref.<kind> captures, byte-range scope stack → ::-joined qualified names, contains edges, refs attributed to the innermost enclosing symbol). Seed TS/JS queries are smoke-level; R2 replaces them with the full port. - Routing seam in extractFromSource with per-file wasm fallback. DEFAULT_ROUTED is empty — no behavior change until a language passes its equivalence gate (R3). Dev opt-in: CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_LANGS. Kill switch: CODEGRAPH_KERNEL=0. Loader verifies ABI + kind tables before routing; EDGE_KINDS became a runtime array because kind order is now wire contract. - Grammar-source parity: vendored TS/TSX/JS wasm grammars built from the exact crate revisions (tree-sitter-typescript v0.23.2, tree-sitter-javascript v0.25.0, checked-in parser.c, ts-cli 0.25.10) — the tree-sitter-wasms builds were 2023-era, which the new kernel-grammar-parity test caught on day one. Production TS/JS parsing gets 2.5 years of grammar fixes; full suite green (2456 tests). - Build/release wiring: scripts/build-kernel.sh + npm run build:kernel; release.yml kernel prebuild matrix (continue-on-error — the kernel is optional everywhere, bundles fall back to the wasm path); bundles stage lib/kernel/codegraph-kernel.node; release job runs the kernel suites with CODEGRAPH_KERNEL_EXPECT=1. perf(resolution): defer checkpoints and double-buffer persist during resolution, byte-identical graphs (#1320)
Fresh init on a 4,402-file Java repo (dubbo): 18.2s -> 13.5s (-26%), with the resolution phase going 12.6s -> 7.9s (-38%). Graphs verified byte-identical on both the pool path (dubbo) and the sequential path (excalidraw). Two changes: 1. The fastInit+pool path restored WAL for the resolver workers but left wal_autocheckpoint at its default, so the persist loop inline-checkpointed hot pages all phase long (#1231's pathology inside resolution — measured at 58% of resolution wall). Checkpointing is now deferred behind the bounded valve and folded once at maintenance, mirroring the deferWal path. 2. The resolution loop is double-buffered: batch k+1 is prefetched (OFFSET past batch k's still-pending rows, under an explicit ORDER BY rowid) and fanned out across the pool while batch k's ref cleanup runs on the main thread. Batch settle-waits dropped 2572ms -> 117ms. Correctness invariant found by the byte-identical gate and now documented in the loop: batch k+1's resolution READS batch k's edges (resolveMethodOnType walks supertype chains over extends/implements edges that resolution itself inserts), so edges must persist BEFORE the next batch fans out; only the ref cleanup overlaps. Also extends the CODEGRAPH_SYNTH_TIMINGS instrumentation with phase labels (grammar-init, parse-loop, fts-rebuild, resolver-reinit, resolution, callback-synthesis) and pool timings (worker open/resolve, per-batch mode, persist), so the next profile is one env var away. Suite green (2444). Sync path timings unchanged. Pool floor re-validated: forced-on at 40k refs is still net-slower, so the 150k threshold stands. fix(scan): includeIgnored child patterns revive repos under a gitignored parent (#1318)
`.gitignore: /repos/` lists `repos/` as ONE ignored entry, while the CLI hint (#1156) suggests `includeIgnored: ["repos/a/", "repos/b/"]` — the child spelling. findIgnoredEmbeddedRepos tested the opt-in matcher against the PARENT path only, which a child pattern never matches, so the documented opt-in silently indexed nothing and init looped the byte-identical suggestion back at the user (#1295). Ignored dirs that don't match as a whole are now descended (the walk was already bounded: depth 4 / 2000 entries, and only runs when includeIgnored is configured) and each nested repo root is matched individually — parent spelling opts in everything under the dir, child spelling exactly the named repos. findUnindexedIgnoredRepos gets the same per-repo check so the hint stops nagging about repos that are already configured while still naming unopted siblings. fix(resolution): literal-receiver builtins and nested locals stop fabricating call edges (#1317)
", ".join(sorted(x)) resolved by bare name to a project function named join — one nested inside a DIFFERENT function, so scope alone rules the edge out. Both defects from #1230, fixed independently: 1. Extraction: a member call on a LITERAL receiver (string, number, collection, regex — across grammars) emits no call ref at all. A literal's methods are the language's builtins, never project symbols; the bare-name fallback let them exact-match any same-named project function. Silent miss, never a wrong edge. 2. Resolution: matchByExactName filters out candidates nested inside a same-file FUNCTION container unless the ref originates within that container's line range. Class members (parent is a class-like node), top-level symbols, and C++ namespace prefixes (no parent node) are untouched. requests re-index: byte-identical (813 calls edges). excalidraw: -27 edges, all literal-receiver refs by construction. The issue's repro is pinned: join has exactly one caller (format_fields), report_missing has zero project callees. Fixes #1230 Co-authored-by: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(go): field-chain calls resolve via validated type inference, never bare-name guessing (#1316)
target.conn.Exec("insert") with `conn *sql.DB` emitted a BARE `Exec`
ref (the receiver chain was dropped for non-identifier receivers), and
exact-match then bound it to the only local `Exec` — an unrelated
interface's method — fabricating an internal dependency (#1276).
Extraction now keeps Go 2-hop selector chains (`base.field.Method`),
and a dedicated matcher resolves them EXCLUSIVELY via two inference
hops: base's type from the enclosing scope (#1108 machinery), field's
declared type from the struct's own declaration lines (comment-
stripped, per-line — chi's "the tree router" doc comment otherwise
donates a phantom type). resolveMethodOnType validates the target.
Package-qualified field types are followed only when the package is
in-module — `handler http.Handler` must not bind a same-named local
decoy. Failure at any hop leaves the ref unresolved: chained Go
receivers never fall through to the bare-name strategies (they were
never emitted before, so no prior recall depends on that path).
chi before/after: node count stable (1,181); 8 correct field-chain
edges gained (mx.tree.FindRoute/InsertRoute/routes, validated,
including the unexported `node` type); the removed edges are the
prior bare-name guesses on external receivers.

fix(c): blank leading attribute macros so functions index under real names (#1311)
SEC_ATTR UINT32 LostName(VOID) — an unknown attribute macro before a
typedef'd return type — misparses in tree-sitter's C grammar: the macro
becomes the type, the return type the declarator, and the PARAMETER
LIST is stored as the function name ("(VOID)"). The C++ grammar
recovers this shape via recoverMangledCppName, but in C the real name
never reaches the mangled string, so only a pre-parse blank can help.
Attribute macros are project-specific, so the blank keys on structure:
line-leading ALL-CAPS token followed by TWO identifiers then `(` — the
`MACRO Ret name(` definition shape. Plain typedef'd returns, ALL-CAPS
calls, #define lines, multi-word builtin returns, and mid-line uses are
all rejected by construction. Offset-preserving like the C++ blanks.
curl re-index: 5,531 C functions before and after, zero name changes;
7 nodes in memdebug.c improve start-line accuracy by 1 (the macro line
no longer counts as part of the definition).

fix(cpp): compose namespace prefix into out-of-line method qualified names (#1310)
An out-of-line member definition inside a namespace block takes its
qualifiedName from the declarator's receiver, which is spelled RELATIVE
to the enclosing namespace — so `namespace simulator {
ManifestStartup::Output ManifestStartup::Apply(...) {} }` indexed as
ManifestStartup::Apply while the class node carried
simulator::ManifestStartup. Fully-qualified call sites
(simulator::ManifestStartup::Apply(...)) never resolved; callers and
file impact came up empty (#1291).
The receiver-based qualifiedName now composes the active namespace
prefix, anchored at the first prefix segment the receiver re-spells
(so `namespace sim { void sim::M::f() {} }` doesn't double-prefix).
namespacePrefix is only ever non-empty for C++ — Go/Rust/Kotlin/Lua
receivers pass through unchanged.
